How to Meditate with Moldavite: A Simple 10-Minute Practice

The short answer: To meditate with moldavite, find a quiet space, set a clear intention, and hold your moldavite in your hand or rest it over your heart. Breathe slowly for 5 to 10 minutes, noticing what comes up without judgement. Finish by grounding yourself, and keep early sessions short while you get to know the stone.

Before you begin

  • Choose a quiet spot where you won't be disturbed for 10 minutes
  • Have a glass of water and a journal nearby
  • If you have a grounding stone such as smoky quartz or black tourmaline, keep it close
  • Switch your phone to silent

A 10-minute moldavite meditation

  1. Settle in (1 minute). Sit comfortably with your feet on the floor. Close your eyes and take three slow, deep breaths.
  2. Set your intention (1 minute). Hold your moldavite in your palm. Silently name one thing you're ready to welcome in, such as clarity, courage or change.
  3. Connect with the stone (2 minutes). Bring your moldavite to rest over your heart. Notice its weight, its texture, its temperature. Remind yourself it was formed from a moment when the stars met the Earth.
  4. Breathe with it (4 minutes). Breathe in for a count of four, hold for four, and breathe out for six. With each breath out, imagine releasing something that no longer serves you.
  5. Notice (1 minute). Gently observe any feelings, images or thoughts. There's no need to hold on to them or push them away.
  6. Ground and close (1 minute). Set your moldavite down and hold your grounding stone, or press your feet firmly into the floor. Take one last deep breath and open your eyes.

After your meditation

Drink some water and take a few minutes to journal. Write down your intention and anything you noticed. Over weeks, these notes can reveal gentle shifts you might otherwise miss.

An affirmation to use

"I welcome change with an open heart."

Tips for moldavite meditation

  • Start short. Moldavite is described as intense. Five minutes is plenty at first.
  • Be consistent. A few minutes most days often feels more meaningful than one long session.
  • Try different positions. Some people prefer the stone on the heart, others on the third eye while lying down.
  • Let it be. If you feel nothing, that's perfectly fine. Many people notice changes gradually.
